Dr. Victor Miguel Ponce  is an expert in the field of hydrological engineering, with 43 years of experience in engineering education, research, consulting, and service.

His areas of expertise are: computational hydraulics and hydrology, surface-water hydrology, environmental hydrology, groundwater hydrology, ecohydrology, hydroclimatology, and hydrosedimentology. Specific areas of current interest are: online hydraulic and hydrologic engineering, salinity management, sustainability of groundwater resources, and hydrologic and environmental impact of water development projects.

Dr. Ponce has 36 years of experience as a university professor in Colorado and California. He is the author of more than 1017 professional growth items, including a popular textbook (Engineering Hydrology, Principles and Practices, Prentice Hall, 1989), an online Fortran textbook, 49 refereed journal papers, 243 technical reports and other publications, 128 online computer programs, 240 legacy tales, 154 invited lectures, and 124 webvideos. He is an active lecturer, researcher and consultant in his field, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
